Chapter 9 - Schober

Even before I read this chapter, I have always been fond of the Jimmy John's shop signage composition. I am always enticed into reading them whenever I eat there. It's just words, but the words are intriguing. The way they are balanced with big letters, small letters, tall letters, fat letters, the composition is always perfectly spaced. Certain words are even changed to more appropriate font types, perfectly illustrating the word for greater effect. The black and white monochromatic color scheme keeps things polished and simple so the viewer's focus is solely on the type and the message.

This poster is for family house rules, not an ad, but I like how each line is in a different typographic style to illustrate the meaning behind each one. The overall composition is a little overbearing, with very little negative space, but with the different widths and kerning between the letters, the lines form pockets of negative space in specific sections and kind of makes up for it.
