To start brainstorming an idea for this project, I thought about what started the development of my interest in art/design.
I came up with 3 questions/answers for myself, so I could start collecting inspiration:
Why did I get into Design/Advertising?
Taking Graphics freshman year, project on andy warhol Sophomore year, working on yearbook junior year, getting into photography
What images/designs could I use to represent that?
My own work (photography/design)
Andy Warhol, Saul Bass, Annie Leibovitz, August Sander, Hannah Hoch, Rene Magritte
What designers/artists inspired me?
Andy Warhol Saul Bass Annie Leibovitz August Sander Hannah Hoch Rene Magritte
After thinking about and answering these questions, I came up with the idea to create some sort of collage. As of now, I would probably collage some of my own work that I'm most proud of as well as enough that shows my progression along with some of these artists' works that have inspired me along the way. I'm not sure if I'm going to stick with the idea, however, I collected some imagery from those artists that I would consider including.
I'm still really working on this project, and coming up with an idea that I really love, but this is what I've got so far.

Niederer - Final Project Ideas
I have three very different ideas laid out for this project; could possibly use all three of them as I'm highly interested in exploring.
Iconography / Logo-Making for locations and items and even phrases that hold meaning in my life
A sort of 'Name Plate' that features key ideas and 'slogans' that pertain to me
Typography in the shape of something relevant
Nick - My Life in Advertisement (Ideas)
Reflecting on the exercise we did in class last week, it hadn't really dawned on me the level in which I interacted with branded products. I mean, not to say that I'm not conscientious of what I buy because I do have particular tastes, but I was interested by how I was able to think of the exact products I use on a daily basis. Growing up I always read magazines because they're visually stimulating. Advertisements always caught my eye and honestly, that's what turned me onto pursuing advertising as a career. I'm not talking about the run of the mill carbon copy ads that feature: product + copy. I'm talking about the really unorthodox ads that have strong design that really stops you in your tracks and makes you look at it in admiration. These are the ads that create that desire to want whatever it is no matter what it is. A lot of my favorite ads that have stuck with me throughout the past use photography as a medium, and I personally like using photography in my work. Here are some examples:
a collage I keep on my walls of random images that showcase photography styles that I appreciate
This is from an Absolut: Level campaign that ran several years back
Terry Richardson's photography is something aesthetically appealing to me
D&G ads are always strong with their group shots because they tell multiple narratives making this ad very dynamic.
Emily Iammarino - My Life In Ad Ideas
Okay so far i have 2 ideas for this final project.
Idea 1: has to do more with advertising and how i am currently learning the dos and don'ts of the design and thought process. So, like everyone and their mom, i love Apple's advertisements (shocker) everything they do is just so crisp, clean, simple, and overall fantastic. So basically i view them as the epitome of what i'd like to achieve when i hope to one day design ads myself. I chose to focus on this campaign because i love the "Think different." tagline. So i was thinking of making very simplistic, clean ads that would each say "Think ______." and each tagline would relate to some part of the ad design process.
Idea 2: my other idea has to do with the BE STUPID campaign by Diesel, where i'd basically recreate these ads but would relate them to my life with my own photos and sayings.

After the search criterea is complete nanniimagination will provide you with a variety of fun ideas that will be fitting and fun for you (the nanny) and the kids that you sit for.
Nanniimagination is an app to make your day easy and organized. And if you can relax and have fun, the kids will do the same.

This page would appear if the user clicked on the button “to learn about nanniimagination”. The name is not completely clear so this page would define how the app works and how the app can help you.

This page would appear after the main screen if the user pressed "search by keyword". On this page the user could type anything in the text box and could receive an answer. This would be similar to a nanny specific search engine. Kid friendly activities could be located this way but the search would also provide answers to questions like "how do you heat up an infants bottle?" or "what are the symptoms of the chicken pox?".

This page would appear if the user clicked on the button “use nanniimagination”. The user just need to click the box next to subjective questions.

When the user clicks save they can either make a new profile if they are a first time user , or if they have used the app before their results would be saved in a user profile.

This page provides a summary of your results and because inside was checked on the previous screen there are activity ideas for both in home and out of home. The user would then just click enter after choosing an activity. The next page would present any GPS directions, instructions for a craft, or the rules for the game the user clicked on.

Katherine Brown- my life through advertising
Thinking about different advertisements and brands in my life, I thought of three specific brands and a single type of advertising. I’ve always enjoyed minimalist design, including design in advertisements. I love the simplistic look of a single image and slogan that says so much more than what you can see. Three brands that I am almost always wearing are hanes, levi, and converse. A white tshirt, jeans, and a pair of chuck taylors is my go to outfit on pretty much any given day. I wanted to show something that described me and my life in a style of advertising that I really enjoyed. I’ve attached some examples of ads that I really liked, and this is the kind of feel I wanted to go for. At the bottom is a very very rough example of what I would want my piece to look like. I plan on doing the photography but this is the basic layout of what it would look like-I'm still working on a tagline.

When I think about the things I enjoy the most, music,
technology, and high resolution graphics come to mind. I took some 3d modeling
and animation classes and I want to incorporate those skills into this final
project.
My goal for this project is to create a really high-res and
detailed large poster, 24x36”, that I can later have printed. I want the theme
to revolve around abstract shapes and effects that symbolize audio waves and
frequencies. I want to model some 3d speakers and objects/effects in Maya and
import them into the poster in photoshop. I also want to experiment with
creating brushes out of 3d objects and using lots of 3d shapes that are angled
differently, giving it a lot of depth and dimension.
This relates to the class because posters, flyers, and music
event artwork are always needed. More importantly, knowing the mechanics and
procedures behind the printing procedures for high-res posters is a practical
thing to know for the field. For example, I will make the poster at 300 DPI and
make sure to work on it when at 100% zoom to make sure I get it as detailed as
possible, making it look great once printed.
A large part of the inspiration for this project comes from an artist named Android Jones. He does a lot of high res digital artwork with 3d elements incorporated. This video is a time lapse of a self portrait he did, and it shows him creating scatter brushes out of 3d objects and changing the rotation and angles of 3d shapes.

Most of his pieces are incredibly vibrant and colorful and have a lot of hidden shapes. I also really like how his art is both made digitally a lot of the time but also has themes about technology with tech patterns and incredible detail, like in this picture.
